It came down to the wire for Red Level on Monday night, but Highland Home prevailed, winning 63-58.

Red Level (5-7) trailed by one point with 12 seconds left and ended up turning the ball over on a foul. Highland Home hit 1-of-2 from the free throw line.

The Tigers had another opportunity, but ended up turning the ball over with four seconds left. Then, the Flying Squadron hit a lay up at the buzzer to get the victory.

“We had come back from 14 down and actually had the ball with 30 seconds left to go ahead,” Red Level coach Fred Kelley said. “It was a tough loss for us and hopefully we’ll learn from it.”

Red Level’s Troy Nolen led with 25 points and Trey Salter had 10.

In girls varsity action Monday night, the Lady Tigers fell to Highland Home, 63-32.

Kim Perdue led with nine points and Chelsea Toles had six.
