Clinton campaigns for Sparks

BIRMINGHAM (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton has appeared at a fundraiser in Birmingham for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ron Sparks.

The Birmingham News reported that Sparks told a crowd of about 125 to 150 people that Clinton and his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were longtime friends. Sparks was co-chairman of a group called Rural Americans for Hillary when she ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.

    Nice to know Sparks is “thicker than thieves” with the clintons.
