Keith Alan Shiver

Keith Alan Shiver, 38, of Dozier, died Thurs., Sept. 23, 2010.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Sat., Sept. 25, at Good News Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Stone Lake Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing, and Minister Jay Driver officiating.

Foreman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Shiver; his son, Luke Shiver; his mother and stepfather, Juanita and Don Bowers, all of Dozier; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Tina Shiver of Gantt; stepsister, Julie (Chris) Adkinson of Opp; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Shiver.

Ann P. Curtis

Ann P. Curtis passed away Sept. 8, 2010, at her home in Colorado Springs.

She was born Sept. 30, 1930 in Andalusia to Henry W. Peacock and Shirley Gibson. For 24 years she was married to Thomas “Tom” H. Curtis with whom she had two children: Hank Curtis of Colorado Springs and Pamela Nelson of San Antonio, Texas.

She is survived by six grandchildren, Lindsey and Bryce Curtis, Sabrina,

Brittany, Holly and Hannah Nelson. Grace Franklin of Andalusia is her only

surviving sibling.

Ann attended The Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Birmingham, Ala.

Upon graduation she then joined the U.S. Air Force where she earned the rank of captain. She was very active in the Air Force Community Wives club(s) and actively supported the MIA’s during overseas conflicts. Once honorably discharged from the USAF, she began her career as an Air Force fighter pilot’s wife and a mother of two.

Ann continued her nursing career with many years of service at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs; Humana Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.; and Humana Hospital in Destin, Fla., from which she retired before moving back to Colorado Springs.

Ann had a very colorful personality and diction to go with it. She could use both to make her views understood as she often did. She was also an avid, accomplished golfer and it was one of her favorite past times. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and was an excellent cook.

A private memorial service was held.

Steve Brent Purdue

Steve Brent Purdue, age 59 of Andalusia, died unexpectedly Sun., Sept. 19 in Destin, Fla.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Ray Armstrong officiated.

Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Katherine Perdue of Pensacola, Fla.; son, Kevin Perdue and fiancé JessicaLyn Horejs, both of Liburn, Ga.; daugher, Chastity Perdue Higgs of Opp; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Ronald (Charlotte) Perdue of Mobile; sister, Barbara Wise of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Megan and Raidon Perdue and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brenton Perdue.

Pallbearers were Bo Lambert, Gerald Gardner, David Bush and Danny Wise.
