Former Florala Mayor and current assistant state Ag Commissioner Glen Zorn has raised $137,528 in his quest to succeed his boss as ag commissioner.

Current Ag Commissioner Ron Sparks is constitutionally limited to two terms in office and is the Democratic nominee for governor.

Zorn, also a Democrat, is waging a statewide campaign against Republican nominee John McMillan, who has raised twice as much money.

Zorn has spent $55,335 to date, and had $102,191 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

McMillan has raised $306,205, spent $362,182, and had a balance of $69,146 at the end of the most recent reporting period.

By comparison, Sparks spent $172,102 in his 2002 campaign for state ag commissioner, his first statewide race, and $455,967 in his 2006 race.
