Opp seeks big names for ‘11 rodeo

The City of Opp is seeking big name headliners for its 51st annual Rattlesnake Rodeo.

Opp Mayor H.D. Edgar said Mon-day the city has made an offer to get country music superstars Jamey Joh-nson and Eric Church to perform at next year’s event.

Edgar said the plan to feature Johnson of Friday and Church on Saturday. “They haven’t accepted our offers yet,” he said.

Johnson is famous for songs such as “In Color” and “The Dollar.”

Church has rocked the charts with songs such as “Love Your Love the Most” and “Guys Like Me.”

The rodeo, which draws large crowds to Opp each year, is slated for April 1-2, 2011.
