President Barack Obama honored the Auburn University’s 2010 BCS National Championship football team Wednesday at the White House.

“It wasn’t always an easy road,” Obama said in a press release. “This team played one of the toughest schedules in all of college football last year.”

The President recognized a few players on the team, including former quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton and Kodi Burns presented Obama with a football helmet and BCS championship jersey.
