The elderly man injured last week in what was first described as a “backhoe accident” has died.

Preliminary reports indicated that Willie C. Williamson, 82, was run over by a backhoe; however, the later official report of the Nov. 29 accident revealed Williamson was crushed in an accident at his farm near Sweet Home Baptist Church on U.S. Hwy. 331 North after the large truck he was working on disengaged. When Williamson tried to stop the vehicle, he became pinned between the door and the body of the vehicle when it came into contact with another piece of equipment.

Funeral services will be held tonight at Keahey Funeral Home at 6 p.m., with visitation one hour before the service.
