Andalusia and Pleasant Home got off to good starts Friday night in the Lady Bulldogs’ annual high school softball tournament at the Andalusia Sports Complex.

The Lady Bulldogs beat Straughn 8-4 in their first game, and will face Eufaula at 11:30 a.m. today in the winner’s bracket.

Pleasant Home beat UMS-Wright, a Class 4A team, 4-0, and will face area foe Kinston today, also at 11:30 a.m.

Opp fell to Class 6A’s Alma Bryant 2-0, and Class 1A’s Kinston beat Class 5A’s Rehobeth 5-0 in both team’s first games of the tournament.

In its second game, KHS beat Jackson 2-0, which set up its game against PHS this morning.

Eufaula beat Alma Bryant 6-0 in the nightcap.

In their second game of the day, the Lady Tigers fell to the Lady Bobcats, 5-1.

Straughn will face Rehobeth, and Opp will face UMS-Wright today at 9 a.m.
