LBWCC blanks Huntingdon

LBWCC scored seven runs in the seventh inning to beat Huntingdon College 16-2 on Tuesday.

With this victory, the Saints improve to 20-12 overall, and 10-5 in the southern conference of the ACCC.

Opp native Zack Sasser led the Saints and went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and scored two runs.

David Carter and Johnnie Eaton also had two hits each for the Saints.

LBWCC scored four runs in the first inning, but HC cut its lead to two with two runs of its own.

The Saints pulled away in the third inning with four additional runs to take an 8-2 lead.

In the fifth, LBWCC scored one run to take the outright lead going into the seven-run seventh.

Chad Wallace, P.J. Leto, Opp native Gavin Free, Andalusia native Josh Dewrell, Ben Pettus and Raymond Moody pitched one inning each in the win. Pettus had two strikeouts.

Matthew Barber pitched two innings.
