Red Level native Shane Turner was selected as the Southern States Athletic Conference’s Baseball Hitter of the Week for his efforts at the plate last week for Auburn University-Montgomery.

For the week, Turner went 7-for-15, scored three runs and was hit by two pitches, while walking once. The week was highlighted for the former Saint when he was 4-for-5 in the series finale against the Barons, where he drove in a career-best six runs, four of which came on a grand slam.

Turner ranks third on the team this season with a .348 batting average.
