forget. Described as a social sharing site, it functions as a virtual “pinboard.”

Pinterest allows one to organize and share all those things found on the web such as recipes, craft ideas, photographs or anything that catches one’s eye. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, one can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.

“I love Pinterest!” said Jennifer Pybus of Lockhart. “It’s a great place to share and try new ideas. We’ve made our own laundry soap, a bean-pole teepee for the kids, planted celery, made jewelry, crafted a few hair bows and up-cycled a few T-shirts.”

Pybus explained that when one sees a great blog post, recipe, article, or photo online, “you can ‘pin it’ to a board that you create to help you organize your interests and find it easier later.”

Jessica Bennett of Florala, a bride who is getting married today, used the site to garner ideas for the wedding ceremony and for the reception.

Melissa Williams of Andalusia agreed with her fellow enthusiasts.

“I love Pinterest,” she said. “We even have a Pinterest group on Facebook, and we have parties where we get together and make things we’ve seen on there.”

The site can be found online at www.pinterest.com. To get started, request an invite. One must be warned – it’s addictive.
