Polls will be open again this week in Alabama for the Republican primary runoff.

Statewide, there is only one race on the ballot – the Republican nomination for Chairman of the Public Service Commission, a race featuring PSC Commissioner Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh and Chip Brown. The winner will advance to the November general election.

Locally, there are two races, each of which will decide who represents us at the county level for the next four years.

The ballot includes the race for county commission chairman between Kylan Lewis and Bill Godwin.

Also on the ballot is the District 2 commission seat in which Joe Barton faces Randall McCart.

It is worth the effort to go to the polls Tuesday and vote. Doors are open from 7 to 7.
