A Saturday ATV accident near Gantt Lake has left an Elberta man dead.

Alabama State Troopers are reporting that Christopher Adam Lambert, 34, died after being crushed under a three-wheeler.

The accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. on County Road 75, which is also known as Indian Springs Loop in the Valley of Shiloh, located off Dunns Bridge Road.

Troopers said Lambert, who was riding a Honda Big Red three-wheeler, was traveling on a dirt portion of the road when he left the roadway and attempted to go up an embankment. Troopers said the ATV rolled over on Lambert, and it is believed that speed was a contributing factor in the accident.

Troopers, along with Covington County sheriff’s deputies, area emergency medical service providers, Gantt fire and police department members and volunteers, as well as Life Flight, were involved in the recovery and investigation of this accident.

As of Monday, the accident remains under investigation.
