For the first time in its 100-year history, Damascus Baptist Church held its first baptism last Sunday. Michael Kervin and Junior Smith had the honor of being baptized in the new baptistery, which was constructed using tithe money. The church celebrated its 100-year anniversary on May 27. Located on state Hwy. 4 near Lockhart, there is a 35-member congregation and the Rev. Ronald Davis serves as pastor.
