Ollie’s Army’s 5K will take place Sat., July 28, at 8 a.m. as part of the Covington County Cares Day.

The 5K, which is sponsored by the group named in honor of 3-year-old Ollie Dubose who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, will kick off the all-day event where local charities will have booths set up.

“After the diagnosis, we began Ollie’s Army to help raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis,” 5K race coordinator and Ollie’s mother, Linsey Dubose said.

Dubose said entertainment at the Covington County Cares Day will come from Alabama Talent Hunt contest winner Christian Wossilek.

The event will be held at Springdale, and the 5K will also start at the estate.
