On July 17, 2012, an article appeared online from Mr. Curtis Thomasson about the Cox family reunion being the oldest family reunion, The William Booth family reunion was originally held in August of 1864, and has been held every year on the fourth Sunday in August. This will be the 148th reunion

I am a great-grandson of William Booth and have attended all my life, as I was born in 1944. This reunion will be held Aug. 26, 3012, at the Samson Community Center in Samson, Ala.
