Pleasant Home will enjoy the fruits of its experience as the Lady Eagles prepare for another volleyball season.

PHS coach Jerry Davis said his team is loaded with seniors.

“The main thing is all of the girls have been playing since the seventh grade,” Davis said. “We should be pretty experienced.”

The Lady Eagles are in Class 1A, Area 2 again this season with Kinston and Florala.

This season, PHS will have the opportunity — if it finishes either the winner or runner up of its area — to compete at the Class 1A Super Regional Tournament in Montgomery.

Davis said the team’s success, if they make it that far, depends on who they get paired up with.

“We’re probably as good as half of them there,” he said. “If we’ll stay healthy, then we might have a good season.”

Davis said a team goal is to make it to the state tournament this season.

“We’ve gone to regionals the last three years,” he said.

Davis said the season outcome depends on the players.

“We’ve got a bunch of experienced girls,” he said. “It’ll depend on how they come together.

“You say you have the same bunch back, but it’s different every year,” he said. “We should serve the ball well and we should be a good defensive team.”
