Karate students compete in ‘Fort

Andalusia Isshinryu Karate students Allen Butler, Taj Patel and Kyle Burgans competed at the 33rd annual Battle of Mobile Karate Tournament on Aug. 11, in Spanish Fort.

The tournament was sanctioned by the Mississippi Karate Association and featured schools from Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

Andalusia Isshinryu Karate students placed as follows:

• Taj Patel — first place in green belt fighting and forms, and second place in green belt weapons;

• Kyle Burgans — third place in green belt forms and fighting;

• Allen Butler — third place in black belt youth weapons, second place in black belt youth forms, and first place in black belt youth fighting.
