Published 3:19pm Saturday, September 8, 2012

The Straughn Middle School Tigers shut out Red Level Thursday night, 30-0.

SMS football coach John Evers said quarterback Brock Hammett scored two touchdowns, and Matt Worley added two TDs — a rush for a score and a fumble return for a score — in the win.

Additionally, Jacob Hawkins scored three 2-point conversions for SMS.

Straughn’s Matthew Lilly and Arthur Benzee played well on the defensive side of the ball, Evers said.

SMS will host rival Andalusia on Thursday. Kick off is at 5:30 p.m.
