Opp police are searching for a man who robbed a cashier at the AW Herndon South store Tuesday morning on Hwy 331.

Opp Police Chief Nickey Carnley said in a release that his officers were dispatched to the store at around 5:16 a.m., after a cashier reported she had been “robbed with physical force by an unknown male subject.”

Officers surveyed the scene, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Carnley said a video of the robbery was recovered from the business, and police are currently looking for a male subject wearing a “black jacket, blue jeans, red hat with white writing or an emblem or back of the hat, blue toboggan, and black gloves.”

The race of the suspect is unknown.

Carnley said the suspect left the convenience store on foot.

It is unknown which direction he traveled and he took an unknown amount of cash.

Carnley is asking that anyone with information pertaining to the robbery contact the OPD at 334-493-4511.
