Pleasant Home struggled to get anything going offensively and took a 48-6 loss to Geneva County Friday night in Hartford.

“We just got in a hole in the first quarter and it progressively got worse,” PHS head football coach Cody McCain said. “We couldn’t move the ball effectively at any point during the game.”

On defense, McCain said the Eagles missed a few tackles and wasn’t fast enough to “catch them.”

“We’ve got to get back together and get ready for next week,” he said.

The Eagles (4-3) will host Brantley.

PHS isn’t out as far as the playoffs are concerned. The Eagles locked a berth in the playoffs last week with their 44-33 win over Georgiana.

McCain said the team has to come out and play hard these next couple of weeks in order to try for a possible third seed spot.

“I think we’ve just got to come out and play in these next couple weeks and see what happens,” he said.

Injury news: PHS starting quarterback Hunter Odom suffered a concussion and will be out for about two weeks, McCain said.
