Brantley beats Pleasant Home, 48-0

Pleasant Home head football coach Cody McCain said he was pleased with the Eagles’ effort despite a 48-0 loss to Brantley on Friday night.

“I thought the kids fought really hard tonight,” McCain said. “We asked for them going into the game, for just a 100 percent effort and let the scoreboard take care of itself.

“When the game was over with, there were some things where we could’ve done better,” he said. “Brantley has an unbelievable team this year.”

Pleasant Home drops to 4-4 overall, and 4-2 in Class 1A, Region 2. The Eagles will travel next week to vie for the third seed of the playoffs at McKenzie.

McCain said Hunter Odom, who suffered a concussion last week at Geneva County, got cleared this week to play football. He’ll be back next week, but playing mostly on defense, the coach said.

Brantley led 20-0 with two minutes to go in the first half and in a more than one minute span, added two touchdowns to lead 35-0 at half time.

“We had it respectable there for a while,” McCain said.
