Christmas parades, lightings on tap

Christmastime’s a coming and there’s much to do in the coming days.

First on the schedule is the Andalusia Christmas tree lighting and caroling, which will be held tomorrow. Caroling will begin at 6 p.m., lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.

Everyone is encouraged to bring his or her lawn chairs and blankets.

Friday night, the Opp Downtown Redevelopment Authority is holding a Christmas at the Depot from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Milk and cookies and a visit from Saint Nick, along with joyful sounds of the season with Ino Baptist Church choir singing at 6 p.m., will be part of the festivities.

A tree lighting ceremony will be at 7 p.m.

The Andalusia Christmas parade will be at 7 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday, the Pilot Club of Andalusia will have its annual Pancake and Sausage Day, from 5:30 a.m. until noon at the Kiwanis Community Center. Cost is $5 per person.

The Business & Professional Women’s Club will simultaneously host a bizarre.

The First Baptist Church of Opp will have a soup luncheon from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cost is $5. The Opp Christmas Parade and downtown festival will be from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Springdale Open House will be Saturday, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

On Sunday, the annual tour of homes will take place.

 

Next weekend, Red Level and Florala will hold their parades.

Red Level’s will be at 4 p.m., on Sat., Dec. 8, and Florala’s will be at Dec. 8, at 5 p.m.
