“O Little Town of Bethlehem” will come alive next weekend in Harmony, as a local church will hold its annual live nativity.

Organizer Betty Chastain said this is the third year that Harmony Baptist Church has invited visitors on a guided tour through the events of the first Christmas night.

The event is free to the public and will feature Mary and Joseph, baby Jesus, shepherds and wise men as they make their way through the journey of the Christmas story.

Visitors will hear the rest of the “wonderful story of Christmas of how Jesus did not stay a tiny, baby; but grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man, doing great miracles, healing the sick and raising the dead, and finally giving his life for all mankind of a cruel cross.”

Chastain said the event has grown the past two years increasing from 89 participants to 146 participants.

“This year, I’m praying of 200,” she said. “Refreshments will be served.”

The event will be held Dec. 7 through Dec. 9, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
