Shelter to hold annual adoption days

Published 12:04am Thursday, December 13, 2012

Those looking to give a new home to a pet this holiday season may want to take a look at the Andalusia Animal Shelter.

Christin Ball, shelter manager, said there are a variety of different dogs and cats from which to choose, including small, toy dogs up to large ones, as well as cats of all sizes.

“They still have to pay to get the animal spayed or neutered,” she said.

Ball said the cost is $74 for male dogs; $100 for female dogs; $61 for male cats and $75 for female cats.

“They have to pay half the day they adopt and half the day of surgery,” Ball said.

Ball said there will be special adoption days on Dec. 21-22. Pictures with Santa will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Dec. 21, and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Dec. 22.

“We’ll have pictures with Santa those days as well,” she said. “And we’ll be able to print them and they can take them with them.

“We are asking people to help sponsor the animals,” she said. “The cost is around $100, and includes the spaying, neutering, heartworm tests and other tests and shots.”

For more information, call Ball at 222-8705 or a complete listing of the animals can be found on the shelter’s Facebook page.
