MAMIE HALL MORRIS

Mamie Hall Morris, 93, of Red Level, went to be with her Lord on Sun., Dec. 23, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 27, at South Church of God with the Rev. Michael Bush, the Rev. Carl Turman, the Rev. Larry Turman and the Rev. Joey Turman officiating. Music will be provided by the Turman and Bush families. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at Keahey Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Morris of Red Level and Charles R. (Peggie) Morris of Brewton; daughters,  Bessie Williamson, Carrie Williamson and Bobbie (Carl) Turman, all of Red Level; one sister, Mattie Watson of Andalusia; a brother, Roy (Vera) Hall of Florala; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Morris; daughters, Nell Morris and Kennie Williamson; and her granddaughter, Penny Shivers.

 

JOHN LEWIS SOWELL

John Lewis Sowell, 86, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Dec. 23, 2012.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that was loved by all. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Dec. 27, at 3 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Madge Tucker Sowell; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Sowell of Opp and Ricky and Sue Sowell of Andalusia; grandchildren, Jeffery and Karen Sowell of Andalusia, Aimee Cooley of Andalusia, Shannon and Karen Roos of Ferndale, Mich., Justin Roos and Camero King of Andalusia and David Adam Sowell of Malaysia; great-grandchildren, Belle Cooley, Kayla and Elizabeth Mitchell, Cameron Roos and Hunter Butts, all of Andalusia; brother, Morgan Chatman Sowell of Phenix City; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
