Straughn’s Paige Taylor pushes through a host of Lady Panthers.

The Lady Tigers of Straughn rolled to convincing win on Friday, outscoring the Georgiana Panthers 72-35.

Georgiana closed out the first quarter on a 10-0 run to cut into Straughn’s early lead, 15-12.

Then the Tigers decided that enough was enough.

Three consecutive baskets by Brittany Driver down low gave Straughn a 21-15 lead.

Driver then found a wide-open Paige Taylor under the basket for an easy lay-in.

Taylor then began to spread the wealth herself.

She dished to Emily Wood in the corner for a three-pointer and later found another teammate for yet another three.

Straughn wound up taking a nine-point lead into the half, 35-26.

And they were just getting started.

The Lady Tigers went on a 12-0 run in the third quarter to open up a 44-28 lead, and the fourth quarter didn’t get any better for Georgiana.

Straughn began the fourth quarter on a 10-0 tear to stretch their lead to 64-33 and ended up winning by a final score of 72-35.

Brittany Driver paced the Tigers with 25 points.

Straughn advances to the championship game tonight at 6 p.m.
