Red Level routs Florala, 71-42

Four finished in double figures for Red Level as the Tigers beat Florala 71-42 on Thursday night.

KJ Lawrence led RLS with 22 points; Tim Sims had 17 points; Justin Maddox had 13 points; and Dee Tolbert had 10 points for the Tigers.

RLS didn’t get off to a good start in the first period, only leading 12-11 after the first eight minutes of the game.

“There’s really not much to say on this one,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said after the victory. “We started real sluggish.”

The Tigers (12-6) went on to outscore FHS 27-10 in the second period to lead 39-21 at halftime.

After a monster 22-point effort in the third period, RLS led 61-34.

Florala’s Austin McNeill and Ray Hall had seven points each. John Bess and Tamaris Jamison chipped in eight points each.

In B-team action, Florala won 30-29.

Red Level’s girls beat Florala 40-37 to get another win this season.

Brandi Hendrix led the Lady Tigesr with 16 points. Shelby Holley chipped in 15 points.

Florala’s Keadra Avan led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points. Christin Brooks had 10 points.

Red Level and Florala are back in action tonight.

The Tigers host Enterprise, while the Wildcats travel to start their play in the Alabama-Florida Shootout at Pleasant Home.
