Only one king

Dear Editor:

Well it that time of the year again. A few people are having birthdays in January. Some have gone on to another place.

Take Elvis Presley, he will be 77 years old on Jan. 8, 1935. No one. No one cannot take his place no matter how they try. There is just one Elvis Presley.

You see ever since I was 13, I started collecting everything I could of him.

I will be 70 on Jan. 6.

I also go to see him six months before he died at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Ala.

I had some people to go with me that February cold night.

Jamie Hattaway, then, Connie Adams, her brother, Larry Hattaway and Eddie Simmons.

We all went in one car, but it was worth everything to see him.

No, I did not get close to him because I was cared and frozen to my seat.

I still have my stubs framed in one of the picture I got that night.

I have seen all of his movies and have them recorded.

I also have four large pictures of him taped to my porch on the wall outside.

People stopped and take picture of him.

I have my wall in the living room full of pictures of him.

Well, just wanted to say Elvis, Happy Birthday, wherever you are.

P.S. I can sing his songs. I remember them along the way.
