The city of Opp voted to hire a building inspector Monday night.

Last month, Mayor John Bartholomew and City Planner Jason Bryan told the council there was a need for a building inspector.

Bartholomew said Monday night the city hired Phil Forsberg in the job.

Bartholomew and Bryan said the position would generate enough revenue from building permits and citations to pay for itself.
