Opp won two out of three basketball games Friday night in Excel.

The Lady Bobcats demolished EHS, 46-15; and the B-team boys edged the Panthers, 38-33.

In varsity boys, Excel won, 65-37.

Opp’s Laiken Free led the Lady Bobcats with 23 points. Saquaya Lane chipped in 15 points.

Excel’s DeToria Parker had four points.

The Lady Bobcats improve to 13-3 overall, and 3-2 in Class 3A, Area 2.

In B-team action, Opp’s Chris Morrow led the Bobcats with 12 points. Raheem Bonham had 11 points.

Excel’s Cole Blackmon had 14 points and James Hudson chipped in nine.

The varsity boys were led by JaKeith Edwards, who had 12 points. Jaylon Wade added seven points in the loss.

Excel’s Colby Cotton had 14 points, Christian Gross had 13 points and Ray Dale had 11 points.

Opp hosts Southside Selma on Tuesday.
