Red Level senior is student of year

The Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize Red Level’s Hannah Johnson as its student of the year during its annual banquet Thursday.

The Red Level High School senior is president of the Student Council, senior class president, Mu Alpha Theta president and majorette captain. She also teaches baton lessons. She has a 3.98 GPA and is ranked third in her class of 34 students.

She also is a member of the yearbook staff, the Red Level Tiger student ambassadors, National Beta Club, Spanish Club, Science Club, Fellowship of Christian Students, Jobs for Alabama Graduates, Drama Club and Future Farmers of America.

She is a member of the Covington County Children’s Policy Council, and has volunteered for Meredith’s Miracles, as a member of the student Relay for Life team, American Red Cross blood drives, as a peer tutor and as a vacation bible school teacher.

Her favorite pastimes are singing and twirling.

Johnson plans to attend LBW and transfer to a university and pursue a career in nursing. Her long-term goal is to be a nurse anesthetist.

She is the daughter of Gary and Brenda Johnson and the granddaughter of Esther and Boots Davis of Loango and Eleanor Johnson of Paul.
