Florala got a 61-56 overtime victory over Kinston on Tuesday night.

“The guys understood that, but played very well,” he said. “They played under control and just a complete game from start to finish. We did the things that were necessary for us to win the game.”

Kinston took a 15-13 lead after the first period, but the Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs 16-12 in the second period to led 29-27 at the break.

FHS led 38-35 after the third period and the game was tied 50-50 at the end of regulation.

Austin McNeill led FHS with 20 points. John Bess and Tamaris Jamison had 15 points each.

D. Henderson had 19 points for KHS.

“Looking at the game, we deserved to win because we played every step of the way,” Allison said. “Going into overtime, everybody stepped up and there were no weak links. Everybody pulled their weight and did a good job for us.”

In B-team action, the Wildcats lost 32-25.

With this victory, FHS improves to having three wins on the season and is now 2-3 in Class 1A, Area 2.
