Published 12:01am Thursday, January 24, 2013

So far, some 18 teams and 72 people have signed up to participate in Scale Back Alabama at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Valarie McCalman, marketing assistant at ARH, said those who did not make it to the weigh-ins on Tuesday and Wednesday have until Friday to do so.

Jody Williams weighs in at ARH on Wednesday.

“For those that could not make it to the scheduled weigh-in times, participants may come by the hospital until noon on Friday,” she said. “As you know, the goal is to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks.”

McCalman said as an added bonus, ARH registered dietician John Newsom will be teaching a nutrition class for 10 weeks on Tuesdays starting Jan. 29, at 3:30 p.m., in the hospital dining room.
