Tickets are on sale now for the 53rd annual Rattlesnake Rodeo, and officials have announced a special February-only sale.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew announced Monday that from Feb. 1-28, weekend passes will be discounted to $20.

Regular ticket prices are $30 for the weekend or $20 for Friday night; $10 on Saturday before 3 p.m.; and $20 after 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Bartho-lomew said the discounted tickets will help take the financial burden off those who wish to attend the event, and hopefully draw more people to Opp.

Rodeo officials said the military discount is not available on the special weekend pass. Children 6 and under get in free.

The rodeo will be held March 22 and March 23 at Opp’s Channell-Lee Stadium.

Bartholomew announced earlier this month that headliners would be country music artists Little Texas for the Friday night show and Steel Magnolia for the Saturday night show.

Little Texas made its debut in the late 80s, and is famous for songs such as “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas,” “My Love” and “Kick a Little.”

Duet Steel Magnolia came together for season two of CMT’s “Can You Duet?” and the rest is history.

The pair is known for songs such as “Keep on Lovin’ You,” “Just By Being You,” and “Last Night Again.”

Tickets for the event may be purchased at Opp City Hall or online at www.rattlesnakerodeo.com. Tickets will also be available at the gate the days of the rodeo.
