DA Walt Merrell said Thursday that his office is currently looking for Demeterie Peralta Watkins and Chante Monique McCloud of Montgomery.

“In the last five days, we have received a flood of checks from these individuals,” Merrell said. “We have reason to believe they are working together. They are purchasing things out of the ordinary.”

McCloud

Merrell said the pair has purchased large amounts of building supplies, lighting and furniture.

“It seems they are working on a building project,” he said. “These are large denomination checks. We want our merchants to know not to take any checks from them and if they have any checks from them to bring them in.”

Anyone with questions or information, may call the DA’s office at (334) 222-2513.
