Stafford scores 40, surges past Lady Eagles

HARTFORD — Geneva County’s Lacy Stafford scored 40 points to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 64-47 victory over Pleasant Home tonight.

With this victory, the Lady Bulldogs claim the Class 1A, Area 2 title for the second year in a row.

Geneva County will host McKenzie in the sub regional on Thursday, while the Lady Eagles travel to face Brantley.

The game was neck and neck from the start of the first period.

Stafford then banked a 3-pointer to give GCHS an 8-6 lead the Lady Bulldogs would never relinquish.

Pleasant Home trailed 12-8 after the first period.
