LBWCC claims 2 wins

LBWCC defeated Enterprise State and Wallace State-Hanceville on Friday.

The Saints needed extra innings to pick off ESCC 13-12 in their first game on Friday. LBWCC then defeated Wallace State 5-1.

 

LBWCC 13, Enterprise State 12

The Saints led 12-8 after the fifth inning, but ESCC scored two runs each in the sixth and seventh to force extra innings.

In the bottom of the ninth, LBWCC scored its game-winning run.

For the game, the Saints tallied 14 hits while committing eight errors in the field.

Trey Chambers went 4-for-6 with two runs and four RBIs to lead the Saints at the plate. Brandon Pugh, Conner Smith and Ryan Barnes had two hits each. Barnes added four RBIs.

Conner Pinegar and Sean Cramer struck out three each on the mound for LBWCC.

Blaine Eads, Thomas Dorminy and Brady Eldridge had two strikeouts each in the win.

 

LBWCC 5, Wallace State-Hanceville 1

Chance Calloway allowed one run on five hits in seven innings and struck out four to help lead the Saints to the win.

The Saints got off to a good start in the bottom of the first inning with three runs to take a 3-1 lead.

LBWCC added two runs in the third inning to take the game-winning lead.

For the next five-and-a-half frames, both teams were held scoreless.

Chambers, Barnes, Dusty Jones, Charlie Spencer, Eric Walding and Trevor Maxey had one hit each to lead the Saints. Jones and Spencer added two RBIs each.

The Saints are back in action today at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
