JOSEPH DALE TWITCHELL

Joseph Dale Twitchell, 92, passed away on Feb. 10, 2013.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., March 2, at 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia.

He was born in Vero Beach, Fla., and was a long-time resident of Andalusia. He served in the Army Air Corp for five years during World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as its financial secretary for 16 years. He was a retired public accountant.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Mosley Twitchell; his second wife, Dolores Riley Twitchell; and his son, Michael Lee Twitchell.

He is survived by his sons, Dale C. (Betty) Twitchell of Satsuma and Roger B. (Elleyn) Twitchell of Monticello, Fla.; his daughters, Vicki Hyatt (Matthew) Solan of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Pamela T. (Ronnie) Davis of Andalusia; his daughter-in-law, Linda Twitchell of Salem; step-daughters, Janet Riley of Alton, Ill., and Judi Plum of New Brockton; a brother, Russell Twitchell of Vero Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and seven-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church building or memorial fund, or the charity of one’s choice.

 

JAMES ‘JIMMY’ REYNOLDS CHESHIRE

James “Jimmy” Reynolds Cheshire, 76, of Milton, Fla., formerly of the Red Oak Community, passed away in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital on Mon., Feb. 25, 2013.

He served his country in the U.S. Army for six years. Upon his retirement from Chemstran of Pensacola, he became an avid beekeeper.

Funeral services were held on Wed., Feb. 27, at the Apostolic Life UPC in Pensacola, with burial following in the Barrancas National Cemetery of Pensacola.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Paula Cheshire; son, James Perry Cheshire all of Milton, Fla.; step children, Pam Chandler, Dawn Armstrong and Leslie Everitte; sisters, Jeanette (Foster) Weed and Illa Ruth Norris both of Andalusia; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Paul Cheshire; parents, Harvey Lee and Ruth (Hilson) Cheshire of the Red Oak Community; and brothers, James Wood Cheshire, H.L. Cheshire Jr., Bob Cheshire and Hiram Cheshire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Covenant Hospice of West Florida, Pensacola.

Family Funeral & Cremation of Pensacola will be handling the arrangements.
