The City of Andalusia’s Department of Leisure Services will host the nationally recognized Doyle Academy on Sat., March 9.

Early bird registration for the camp ends tomorrow, and cost is $45 until then. After March 2, the cost will rise to $65.

The camp will instruct baseball and softball players between 6-15 in hitting, throwing and fielding during the one-day school. The school will be held from noon until 5 p.m. at Johnson Park.

Doyle Baseball Academy is in its 35th year of operation and it conducts satellite schools all over the country and into Canada.

More than 800,000 players have benefited from the instruction.

Players need to bring their own bat and glove, along with tennis shoes for indoor use.

Additionally, there will be a coaches certification program along with the camp.

The coaches program is mandatory for all Andalusia City League coaches.

Check in for the coaches program is at 7:45 a.m., and it will run from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Johnson Park.

Andalusia City coaches cost for the program is paid for by the department of leisure services. For all other coaches, cost is $25.
