Saints split at Huntingdon College

LBWCC split with Huntingdon College in doubleheader action on Thursday in Montgomery.

The Saints got off to a good start, winning game one 6-4, but lost 5-2 in the night cap.

LBWCC will be back in action on Tuesday in Dothan for a conference doubleheader against Wallace State.

 

LBWCC 6, Huntingdon College 4

The Saints scored two runs each in the first, fifth and sixth innings.

LBWCC allowed the Hawks to score four runs in the second inning as Huntingdon led 4-2 after two frames.

Charlie Spencer led the Saints and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Trey Chambers also went 3-for-4, scored two runs and had a stolen base. Conner Smith went 2-for-3 to pace LBWCC.

Kalante Buskey had one hit for the Saints.

Blaine Eads won the game on the mound for the Saints. He allowed no runs on one hit in 1.0 inning of work.

 

Huntingdon College 5, LBWCC 2

The Saints held a 2-0 lead until the fifth inning, where the Hawks blew the game wide open with five runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Spencer, Chambers, Dusty Jones and Johnny Eaton had one hit each in the loss.

Patrick Smith pitched one-third of an inning and allowed four runs on one hit and walked two.
