Red Level dropped two games Friday night at home to Zion Chapel.

The Tigers (2-9) fell 7-2 in game one, and 9-1 in game two.

RLS coach Tony Ingram said the boys are playing better than they have been.

“We’re just not hitting the ball,” Ingram said. “We’re not putting it in play.”

Part of the problems at the plate is players taking bad approaches, Ingram said.

“The other teams are not,” he said. “They’re running up the pitch count on my guys.”

In the second game, Red Level and the experience ZCHS were at it with a 2-1 ball game in the fifth inning.

Ingram said the team was playing well, and that he had to pull his No. 1 pitcher because of the pitch count.

“We’re getting better,” he said. “We’re young, experience wise. They’ve gotten a lot better.”

Red Level’s first win of the year came to Georgiana in its season opener.

“We’re playing up to our potential,” Ingram said.

RLS is back in action on Tuesday at Pleasant Home in junior varsity and varsity play.
