Opp City Schools officials said Tuesday it expects to lose 1.85 teaching units in the next fiscal year.

In the monthly financial report Chief Financial Officer Linda Banks said the loss was due the lost of 32 students in the system’s average daily membership report.

Banks said the numbers were mainly at the high school level.

She also said it would equate to nearly $140,000 in funding for the system.

Opp City Schools superintendent Michael Smithart said there’s no indication the divisors will change.

“If the divisors do change, it could increase,” he said. “The best thing for use is not to continue to lose students.”
