Lady Bobcats lose 1st of season

Northview’s Samantha Bradley scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning and the Lady Cougars handed the Opp Lady Bobcats their first loss of the season with a 3-2 decision at the Northview campus Thursday.
Opp (10-1) is currently ranked ninth in Class 3A in the state.
The Lady Bobcats struck for two runs in the top of the fourth, but the Lady Cougars (8-13) tied the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Lindsay Massey tripled then scored on a Brooke Lee groundout. Lydia Blount followed with a solo homer.
Massey picked up the win in the circle, allowing no earned runs on six hits and a walk. She struck out eight.
Bradley had two singles for Northview.
In baseball action, the Bobcats topped Excel 3-2 in eight innings.
