Crossover Ministry has a “new and exciting announcement” coming next month at its annual appreciation banquet, officials said Wednesday.

Jan White, publicity chair said the board will announce a major improvement to one of its current programs, which will enable it to better serve its clients.

“We’re excited about this announcement,” she said.

Additionally, White said director Todd Sasser is taking a group of youth turkey hunting today as part of a program geared toward reaching out to clients’ children and children who fathers may not be present in their lives.

White said this is the second hunt that children have had the opportunity to attend. The first was a deer hunt around Thanksgiving.

White said Crossover has partnered with a landowner in the Dozier area to use their land and cabin for the hunts.

The Crossover banquet will be held Tues., April 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Center in Opp.

The banquet will feature special music and an update on the ministry, which provide a Christian recovery solution for substance abuse and addiction through the use of education, work, counseling, partnering with churches and the knowledge of Jesus Christ in order to rebuild lives.

The ministry opened its doors in 2005.

The banquet will feature special music and an update on the ministry. Tickets are being offered free of charge to those who would like to attend. Seating is limited. Individuals and businesses who would like to be a banquet sponsor can contact the Crossover Ministry. Sponsor names will be listed in the banquet program, which will be printed the week before the banquet.
