Andalusia’s tennis team got a good glimpse of what the sectional tournament could be like Tuesday.

The Bulldogs played host to Charles Henderson, who is one of three other teams in their section. The other two are UMS-Wright and Escambia County.

AHS defeated the Trojans in boys and girls action, only falling two games at home on LBWCC’s tennis courts.

“It was a great start to the post season,” AHS coach Perry Dillard said.

Andalusia’s Alex Evans lost 6-10 in No. 1 singles; Andalusia’s David May won 10-2 in No. 2 singles; Brandon Scruggs won 10-7 in No. 3 singles; Jackson Moore won 10-1 in No. 4 singles; Tao Chin lost 8-10 in No. 5 singles; and Tucker Foshee won 10-1 in No. 6 singles.

Evans and Scruggs won 10-4 in No. 1 doubles; May and Foshee won 10-1 in No. 2 doubles; and Moore and Ian Peek won 10-2 in No. 3 doubles.

The girls shutout the Lady Trojans, 9-0.

Andalusia will be back in action on April 16 for its sectional tournament.

Girls tennis scores weren’t available when The Star-News went to press Tuesday night.
