AHS pitchers combine for 1-hitter

Andalusia’s Lady Bulldogs trounced Hillcrest’s Lady Jaguars last night in Class 4A, Area 2 softball action, 14-0.

Andalusia’s pitchers Abbie Young and Bre Dixon combined on a one-hitter and two walks, AHS coach Brad Garner said.

PHS girls fall at New Brockton

New Brockton jumped out to an early lead and topped Pleasant Home 5-4 in softball action Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles bounced back late, but didn’t produce enough runs to get the win, PHS coach Bradley Stephens said.

“I just didn’t think we completed the game like we needed to,” he said.

Raven Woods went 3-for-3 with three singles to lead PHS.

The fourth-ranked Lady Eagles are 12-10 on the season, and will be hosting their annual softball tournament, starting tomorrow with pool play.

PHS won’t start its tournament until Friday, when it plays Brantley at 3 p.m.; and Kinston at 7:30.
