AHS Bulldogs on lock down

Andalusia’s soccer team will be on lock down today — literally.

The Bulldogs spent most of Friday night and will spend the majority of the day today in First Baptist Church’s student building getting focused for tonight’s first round of the Class 1A-4A sub-state playoffs, where they’ll face No. 2 Bayside Academy at AHS Municipal Stadium.

AHS coach Tim Ramsden said the main reason for the lock down is to help the players stay focused.

“(Today), I’m going to keep them with me,” he said. “This way, we can make sure they eat right, drink right and get mentally prepared for the game.”

Ramsden said the team will watch a lot of game film and a movie before tonight’s game.

“I wanted all of the kids together and focused on the game,” he said.

First kick is at 6 tonight.
