Boy Scout Troop 46 Camping Expo

“We’re going to run with it,” said organizer Gary Buck. “If it comes a dang monsoon flood tomorrow, I told the Scouts to bring their lifejackets. The good news is, we need the rain.”

The expo is designed to give potential campers a peek into the Boy Scouts, with camping and climbing demonstrations.

Where: Robinson Park, Church St., Andalusia

When: Sat., May 4

Times: 4 – 5 p.m., kindergarten through 4th grade; 5 p.m. – dusk, 5th grade and up; dusk, flag retirement ceremony

Three Notch Market

SATURDAY MORNING UPDATE: This event has been delayed until 11 a.m.

“We are going to assess the situation first thing Saturday morning,” Andalusia Junior Woman’s Club president Amy Dugger said. “If it isn’t raining, with highs in the 60s, it should be a very pleasant day.”

The arts and crafts festival, will feature entertainment throughout the day. There are approximately 50 vendors participating. The event will be held at Springdale on East Three Notch Street beside City Hall.

 

Three Notch Market 5K and Fun Run

SATURDAY MORNING UPDATE: The run has been postponed until May 18.

The web site for the run says it will happen “rain or shine.” Pre-registration for the event begins at 7:30 at AHS, with the race beginning at 9.

A fun run will begin at 10 a.m.

The event is being sponsored by the Andalusia High School volleyball team.

Cost is $25 for the 5K run/walk and $10 for the fun run.

The race will run from AHS to City Hall, down College Street and over to Winn-Dixie and back up East Three Notch back to AHS.
