People now have an opportunity to pre-order the cookbook that people have put their “Heart & Soul” in to, Andalusia’s tourism and relocation committee members said.

T&R members have researched, created and will soon publish a historical cookbook that reflects the culture and heritage of the Andalusia area. Throughout May, members are taste-testing the 350-plus recipes submitted for the project.

On Tuesday, the group met to finalize details on the 264-page hardcover cookbook titled, “Heart & Soul: Our Heritage Cookbook,” and to test a few of the recipes found inside.

The seven-section cookbook features wonderful event foods, men’s favorite foods, delicious breads and recipes handed through the generations.

“We even have a section called ‘Serving Up Stories,’ which gives wonderful memories of those submitting the recipes,” T&R member Barbara Nichols said. “To me, it’s the best part of the cookbook.”

Pre-orders are being taken through Aug. 31. Cost is $20. Beginning Sept. 1, the cost will increase to $25.

“We can even mail these books to anyone who wants to order one for a $5 fee,” Nichols said.

The books will arrive in September.

To pre-order a cookbook, contact Nichols at 334-427-0454; Jessie Walden at 334-222-3312 or Kimberly Jacobs at 334-222-3313.
